I came across some bugs in 1.2:Minimizing the app by doubleclicking the titlebar doesnt work, it jumps right back out of the dock. The dates on the remote site are a bit funny sometimes, a file that was created in November 2001 shows as November 2002. A more detailed date and filesize would also be fine. When the connection with the remote Server is lost, the 'reconnect' Dialog comes, the action before this is not executed, this is a bit annoying. Is it possible to do a quiet reconnect and execute the transfer without bugging the User?-)

well... this minimizing bug is weird... The date we'll be fixed in Captain FTP 1.3 at the end of May. We've also added "keep connection" check box to each address seperately to eliminate reconnections. I think quiet reconnection is not a good solution, because it's needed time to reconnect and it is a field for bugs when you don't know the connection is freezing. You expect remote action and you see nothing, so you repeat your commands, and still is nothing... what do you think?

If the 'keep connection' thing works, its ok. I´ve seen programs on windows-systems with this feature and it it worked not very well.I think it depends also on the remote servers configuration, to allow a 'keep connection' command such as 'list' every x minutes.

I disagree personally. I would prefer a quiet reconnection instead of needing to check the keep connection box for each address. You could put a message above the progress bar saying "Reconnecting..." to alert the user that the connection is being re-established.

One case in particular where it is annoying is when hitting the refresh button. I would like to see the connection re-established and the file list refreshed if the connection has been closed.

Sorry--I'm not sure how that ended up in bold...
